Springers is an amateur theatre and drama group based in Chelmsford, Essex.

Don’t let the term ‘amateur’ fool you, our talented performers and production teams put on shows that would rival many professional productions.

 

Springers performs two musicals per year at Chelmsford’s city centre theatres ranging from popular classics to newer contemporary works.

ABOUT US

Springers has its origins in North Springfield, Chelmsford, Essex, England. Because of a successful cabaret produced as a fund raising event on behalf of North Springfield Community Association, a small group met together in 1982 and the Society was formed.

Offspringers is our offshoot youth drama group. It was formed in 1996 and caters for around 45 children aged between 7 and 18.

 

Offspringers perform one full-length musical each year at Chelmsford Studio Theatre, Essex alongside participating in workshops to develop their skills in singing, acting and dancing.

Springers is always keen for new people to join the group as backstage help, actors, musicians, prompt, carpenters, painters, scenery manufacturers, props, make up, wardrobe, publicity, or box office. A job can usually be found for everyone!
